Metabolism the energy that keeps on giving and your life depends on it; good or bad

Although our metabolism influences our body's basic energy needs, how much we eat, drink and along with how much physical activity we get are the things that ultimately determine our weight

During this complex biochemical process, calories in food and beverages are combined with oxygen to release the energy our body needs to function

Our body needs energy for all its "hidden" functions, such as breathing, circulating blood, adjusting hormone levels, and growing and repairing cells - these basic functions is known as your basal metabolic rateContrary to common belief, a slow metabolism is rarely the cause of excess weight gain. It's more likely a combination of genetic makeup, hormonal controls, diet composition and the impact of environment on our lifestyle, including sleep, physical activity and stress
The more active you are, the more calories you burn. In fact, one way you can increase your metabolism is by exercising

How can we help to boost our metabolism to lose weight?

Perform regular detoxing to rid yourself of toxin buildup to improve your overall health

Two fruits that help boost metabolism and speed up weight loss are apples and pears

Green tea extract can significantly boost metabolism and is excellent for detoxing

Soups and juicing speeds up the metabolism and burns fat

Eat plenty of foods high in calcium, like broccoli (a known weight-reducer) and also extraordinarily high in vitamins C, K and A with plenty of folate and dietary fiber, also one of the best detox foods

Eating hot peppers can boost the metabolism by up to 25%, with the spike lasting for up to 3 hours; Jalapeno, habanero, cayenne and other forms of spicy peppers directly boost metabolism and circulation, it also reduces cravings (this is related to its capsaicin content, a compound that stimulates the body's pain receptors, temporarily increasing blood circulation and metabolic rate)

Slow-release carbs, whole grains are full of nutrients and complex carbohydrates that speed up metabolism and offer long-lasting energy by stabilizing our insulin levels such as oatmeal, brown rice and quinoa

Fruits with high amount of vitamin C, are helpful component that reduces insulin levels. Citrus fruit like grapefruit help us burn fat and keep our metabolism high

Eating foods that are high in Omega-3 fatty acids boost our metabolism. Besides fish, green foods like avocado, also includes many nuts and seeds. Hemp oil and flax seed oil are great additions

Coconut or olive oil are also another highly beneficial healthy fats, which strengthens the immune system

From cayenne to garlic to cinnamon, spices are one of the best ways you can keep your metabolic rates high, such as black pepper, mustard seeds, powdered onion and ginger (a study found that using the more seedy pungent spices enabled people to burn up to 1,000 more calories daily than those not incorporating spices into their diet)

Drinking water speeds up fat burning. It is also a natural appetite suppressant and detoxifier (avoid energy drinks or soft drinks you may get a temporary energy boost from the sugar or caffeine, but on top of all that, you’ll also be stuck with several hundred extra empty calories to work off)

And sleep is really your friend, give your body time-out to keep you healthy with repairs of wears and tears.

I have a theory that I like to use.
We have all been told that eating dinner too late before going to bed is not good for weight loss. To me it makes good sense, since our body has to work overtime to process everything, and then it's not going to really be oiled nicely when we wake up in the morning.
This also applies to excessive drinking, just feeling sorry for the magnificent and complexed machine we all have and don't always respect or love it too much
