Recycling helps to conserve energy and the environment

If you have never considered donating, buying recycled clothes or have thought about it seriously, you may want to think again

It can actually help you save money in the long run, but more importantly it is great for the environment
Interest in garment recycling is rapidly on the rise due to environmental awareness of reducing greenhouse gases, landfill space, conserving energy and benefiting people

A basic step for garment recyclers is to raise public awareness with information about the importance and benefits of donating used items like clothing and shoes

Today, whether you donate, swap, sell, or repurpose, no matter what condition your clothing items are in, there is a way you can recycle them!

Recyclers report that about one-half of donated garments can be reused.
It’s okay if you have outdated or older clothes to donate! Older clothes, can really help someone or is a lifestyle choice to be both chic and cheap

Years back before this issue became public awareness I used to donate my clothes to charities who at the time were just wanting to relieve people who needed assistance.
Friends and colleagues knew if they wanted to drop off bags of unwanted items I could assist to pass on

Obviously then, not even realizing the issue it caused to the environment, my focus was to get items to be reused rather than be thrown away; I felt it was a shame to not allow things to be passed on as a way of helping others this way

One man's trash is another man's treasure

As a whole, everyone is becoming well aware of the dangers to the environment, people are getting more comfortable with participating in helping to relieve the senseless human footprint on the planet

Buying recycled clothes (or anything else) has become a more sustainable way of living, that is actually very empowering, it reduces costly consumerism and waste, and can also be helpful to limit unethical business practices

Having such knowledge it makes a great excuse to go thrifting which will make shopping feel like everyday is a 'sales' day or opening a gift since new items keep rotating through the doors of shops

The second big plus  there are so many different charity shops that people can personally chose to help with their donation of recycled items or spending money which goes directly to that charity, it is a win-win situation
